Exercise therapy is the main treatment

Exercise therapy is the main treatment

Machines can calm a sore area. The work that lasts is strength, control, and a home programme you can repeat.

Not only a machine.

Exercise therapy is the centre of care at this clinic: movement that treats the reason for the pain, not only the flare-up. A machine may be used when it will help a sore area settle. The work then shifts to strength, control, and a home programme.

The World Health Organization notes that regular physical activity supports health. A clinic programme is more specific than general exercise. It is built around the movement that hurts you, and it changes as you get stronger. It is not a claim that exercise replaces every other treatment a doctor has advised.

A plan you can repeat.

Some people are given a video of their own exercises, so they can practise them correctly between visits. The plan is reviewed at the next sitting. If a movement is too sore, it is changed. If it has become easy, it is progressed.

Dr. Apurva V. Marda works with Dr. Shweta Bhaskaran and Dr. Jhanvi Makwana, both MPT. You meet the person who is treating you. The first visit is where that plan starts.

Desk pain, phone posture, and a long commute are a common reason people ask for help. The posture service looks at how you sit and stand, then pairs that with the same exercise approach.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is the treatment only a machine?

No. A machine may be used to settle a sore area. The main work is exercise: strength, control, and a home programme.

Will I get exercises to do at home?

Yes. The plan includes what to practise between visits. Some people also get a video of their own exercises.

Who treats me?

Dr. Apurva V. Marda, Dr. Shweta Bhaskaran, or Dr. Jhanvi Makwana. All three are physiotherapists. Dr. Shweta and Dr. Jhanvi hold an MPT.

Does the plan stay the same every visit?

No. It changes as you get stronger, or if a movement is still too sore.

Can exercise replace the medicine my doctor prescribed?

No. Keep the advice your doctor has already given. Tell the physiotherapist what you are taking.

Where do I read about the first sitting?

The note on the first visit explains the assessment, what to bring, and how a time is confirmed.
