What the first visit is like

What the first visit is like

The first visit is an assessment, not a menu. You leave knowing what is driving the pain, and what to practise at home.

You do not need a referral.

You can ask for a time by phone, WhatsApp, or the visit form. A form is a request, not a confirmed slot. The clinic calls or messages you back the same day, during clinic hours.

If you already have a prescription, a scan, or a discharge summary, bring it. It helps the first assessment. You can also come without papers if this is a new pain and nobody has examined it yet.

What happens in the room.

Dr. Apurva V. Marda or another physiotherapist on the team listens to the story, examines the movement that hurts, and explains what they think is driving it. Treatment usually starts the same day. You leave knowing what to practise at home.

The likely number of sessions is told after that assessment. It is not fixed before anyone has examined you. Two people with a similar pain can need different plans.

The World Health Organization describes rehabilitation as care that helps a person function in daily life. That is the aim of the first visit here: a clear picture of the problem, and a plan you can follow. It is not a promise that every case improves in the same way.

What to wear, and what comes next.

Wear clothes you can move in. After the assessment, the ongoing work is usually exercise therapy, not a machine alone. If the pain is in the back, neck, knee, or shoulder, the spine and joint service is the closer description of that work.

  • Comfortable clothes you can bend and reach in
  • Old reports, scans, and a list of medicines
  • A surgery date, or a surgeon's note about restrictions, if you have one
